The winter 2014 range ‘dark shadow’ is a reflection of the lauren jane image. Attention to detail in combination with innovation offers high-end wearers a taste of what is yet to emerge on the runway on December 10 at Chapel off Chapel (La Mode Finale).
Hand knitted pieces in combination with classic tailoring is disjointed through the use of leather fabrics and custom designed digital prints. The collection consists of 15 garments (8 outfits) and is complimented by one off accessories that add depth to the overall appeal. The colours used are drawn from shades of the shadow itself with attention to dusty browns, moody blacks and subtle greys, which is tied together with a touch of electric blue.

The journey from conceptualisation through to development and production of these one off garments has been a mile stone for designer lauren jane. Fabrics are sourced from quality European fabric stores and have all been produced by hand in Australia.

The theme of the collection ‘dark shadow’ explores a distorted way of seeing, in conjunction with the effect of light creating shadow. Everyday there is varying degrees of darkness and light in the lives of individuals, which seems inescapable but at times are larger in the mind than in reality. The ideas of being trapped, vulnerable and exposed within the darkest hour is the core inspiration behind the collection.

The collection offers  hope for the future with the potential of moving out of the darkness and into the light.
